ABOUT

Peter Enriquez is a multi-instrumentalist, music director, producer, audio engineer, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY.  Primarily a guitarist, Peter has performed with various artists throughout the country and internationally in a variety of styles ranging from pop to jazz and everything in between. In addition to performing and recording with a variety of other artists, Peter leads two groups of his own, Honeytrap, and SWIM.

Peter's R&B/Hip-Hop collective, Honeytrap, held a residency from 2018-2021 at the famed Arlene's Grocery, where they organized Thursday nights every week and held a fully improvised hip-hop jam session. Honeytrap  released their first project in 2020, a live studio video album intercut with documentary footage from the jam session, and interviews from various musicians, audience members, and members of the band. They have since revived this jam session at Umbra in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where they continue to host sessions monthly on Sundays.

In 2022, Peter premiered a set of compositions for the Whitney Biennial Exhibition with members of Honeytrap entitled Love You Madly, a companion piece to a film by the same name in the exhibit about Steve Cannon, a Lower Manhattan cultural icon and founder of non-profit arts organization A Gathering of the Tribes.

In addition to performing, Peter is an accomplished audio engineer and producer. In 2018, he cofounded a full service recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Short Stack NY, where he holds the title of Co-Founder/Engineer. His audio credits include: Tori Kelly, Lawrence, adidas, and Zinadelphia among countless others.

As a research and academically driven artist, Peter has taught masterclasses and presented work at a number of organizations and universities, including Brown University, New York University, CUNY-Hunter College, and Magnum Foundation in topics ranging from music career consultation, to creative recording techniques for various media.
